Practical Permaculture Workshop (Gloucestershire)

Hosted at the inspiring Wild Acres CIC community garden, we’ll put the principles of permaculture into practice and share how to optimise resources and create abundance in organic growing spaces.

Wild Acres grow a wide variety of fruit and vegetables across their site, supporting their community with food, skills, beauty, and nature.

 

Hands-On Experiences: This workshop includes learning by doing, so be ready to get your hands dirty! We’ll be a small group of attendees, to create a friendly and engaging session.

We’ll be led by the seasons in the exact practical activities on the day – but expect themes like:

·      Soil regeneration – being savvy with our soil; using mulch and no-dig.

·      Water management – tips for capturing rain in the landscape and watering wisely.

·      Crop care (including tips on ‘pests’) – choosing, feeding and maintaining your plants.

·      Incredible edibles - explore some beyond-the-norm’ varieties that are easy-grow and climate-resilient.

·      Nature nurture – how building healthy ecosystems benefits crop growing as well wildlife.

·      Seed sowing and saving – self-resilient ways to be smart with your seeds.

Supportive learning:  Workshop leaders Emily and Shila are seasoned facilitators and permaculturists who enjoying growing as soul-food as well as for foodie-harvest. There’ll be an encouraging blend of expert guidance plus group exploration of new ideas.

 

If you’re keen to learn handy techniques in the garden that are good for you, your time and for nature then come and join us!

The workshop is suitable for all skill levels, whether you're a beginner coming in with fresh-eyes or a well-weathered gardener seeking extra inspiration. (Likewise, whether you have a patio-garden or a paddock-size plot!).
